Andrea Adhara Gaytán Cuesta is a second year student of the Ph.D. program in Spanish Literature. She holds a MA degree in International Relations from Università di Bologna, Italy, and a BA in International Relations from Universidad Latina de América, México.
Michoacana and Jarocha by adoption, she has worked with International Programs in Mexico and the United States, teaching Spanish at all levels and Literature, Culture and several programs in Social Entrepreneurship and Migration Studies for more than 6 years. Her main interests involve Border, Migration and Transmigration Studies; XXth-XXIst Century Mexican and Latin American Cultural Studies and cultural productions that derive from Social, Environmental and Indigenous movements; Violence and State, Colonialism and Socio-Political Encounters; and more recently Science Fiction and Magical Imaginary in Transnational Communities.
