Professor Camacho's research covers theoretical syntax and second language acquisition/contact. He currently has projects on the syntax of Spanish and Pano languages (spoken in Peru and Bolivia), with particular emphasis on null subjects, switch-reference and evidentiality. He is also working on a project on the acquisition of idiomatic expressions and the representation of null subjects in Spanish in contact with Shibipo.
