Undergraduate Portuguese Program
Major Requirments
The requirements for the Portuguese major are:
1. The satisfaction of all the core-course requirements, either by placement into a higher course initially or by completing the course.
2. The satisfactory completion of an oral exam in Portuguese in the final year.
3. A total of 36 credits in Portuguese courses, or approved courses from other departments. The only 100-level course which may count is 810:130/135.
4. The completion of at least one 400-level course.

Electives:
Any 810 course at the 200-level or higher.
Minor Requirements
A minor in Portuguese consists of 18 credits (six courses), taught in Portuguese, with a grade of C or better in each course. Nine (9) credits must be in literature. The student's entire course of study must be approved by a departmental advisor.
