This talk will discuss the concept of toxicity as recurrence through the work of Mexican visual artist and writer Verónica Gerber Bicecci. Prof. Heffes will explore how this conceptual paradigm brings forth an aesthetics of toxicity that is rooted in discussions on exposure, environmental injustice, bodily experiences, and material entanglements.
Prof. Gisela Heffes is a creative writer as well as one of the most prominent scholars in Latin American Environmental Humanities.
