Congratulations to our Ph.D. student Diana Sanchez on being awarded an IDEA Innovation Grant - Accessibility Track, for her project Inclusive Teaching Practices: Enhancing Accessibility and Equity for Students with Disabilities.
Diana's project aims to improve classroom equity by training faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants to create accessible and inclusive learning environments. Through three hands-on training sessions held across Rutgers campuses, participants will explore practical strategies grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Each session will guide attendees in redesigning course materials (e.g., syllabi, assignments, slides) and incorporating multilingual and multicultural perspectives to support the diverse needs of all students, including those with disabilities. By equipping educators with actionable tools and fostering collaboration across disciplines and departments, this initiative supports Rutgers’ mission to promote inclusion, accessibility, and student success.
Congratulations!
