Areas of Interest:

Maria Clara Machado holds a PH.D. in Lusophone Studies from the University Sorbonne Nouvelle and in Literature from the University of Brasilia, a master's in Literature, Culture, and Civilization of Portuguese Speaking Countries from the University Paris Sorbonne, and a BA in Social Communications from the University of Brasilia. Her thesis, entitled "My weeping, your singing: possible correspondences between Carolina Maria de Jesus and Françoise Egas´works," received the ABRE (Association of Brazilianists in Europe) award as the best doctoral dissertation written in Europe about Brazil in 2023. Maria Clara's research focuses on black diasporic identity and memory in autobiographical narratives by authors from Brazil and Martinique. She is also a reporter, a writer, and a translator.
