Course learning goals:

  • This is an introductory course for students with no previous study of Portuguese. The course is designed to introduce the basics of the language through readings in a variety of fields
  • The main purpose of the course is to assist students in the beginner level of Portuguese, emphasizing basic language skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing.
  • The course introduces students to the Brazilian culture through a variety of mediums such as readings, movies, music, and videos
  • Engage in interactive activities, participate in group projects to practice greetings, vocabulary and grammar structures
  • Acquire a basic level vocabulary in the targeted language
