Course learning goals:
- The course focuses on all four language skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking, with increasing emphasis on speaking.
- To improve speaking and listening skills necessary for everyday living and for classroom, academic, and cultural situations.
- Introduce students to Brazil’s society and its cultural and social characteristics
- Promote the development of students' communicative competence in the target language
- Develop students’ intercultural understanding and social conscience of problems that affect this cultural complex.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of Luso-Brazilian cultures.
- Participate in a community of language learners and in a multilingual world
- Practice of specific areas of grammar, linguistic structures and the reading of short stories with composition and class discussions.
